little breathing = little living

That quote always catches me. Right in the center of my chest. Like a gasp. Or a wake-up call. Or sudden remembrance that a little breathing = a little life.
And I don't want a little, timid, half-taken life. I want a big gulp. The full, deep, complete experience. And breathing can bring that.
Because breathing is your aliveness. When you're really breathing that's all that there is. It's like a doorway to presence. If that isn't enticing enough, how about this: Functional breathing
calms and quiets the mind.
soothes and balances the nervous system.
brings more oxygen into your blood, massages your organs of digestion and nudges your heart (kinda like a hug).
I feel almost-silly when I talk about the benefits of breathing because they're so vast and miraculous. So I invite you to try it.
